At Wakashio Distillery, we offer tours of our traditional hand-made shochu distillery Sengoku-gura, featuring our wooden pot stills, and our storage tunnel.Additionally, you can enjoy the blending experience at our distillery shop and create your own one-of-a-kind shochu.Have fun during an up-close-and-personal experience with shochu culture!
We produce Sengamejo and 424GIN at the Sengoku-gura distillery, having inherited the techniques of traditionally crafted shochu using a wooden pot still, while also seeking out new endeavors. Take a look at the work of the world’s only wooden pot still craftsman! Although the distillery is open to visitors year-round, imo shochu production takes place from September~November.
Sengoku-gura Storage Tunnel
Maturing shochu imparts depth and mellowness. At Wakashio Distillery, we built a 60m-long storage tunnel to allow for aging with consistent temperature and humidity. Within the tunnel, approximately 18kL (or ten thousand 1.8L bottles) of shochu in various kame pots and barrels are quietly awaiting their time.

Blending Experience
Create your own, one-of-a-kind shochu with our blending experience! Get advice from the distillery staff to blend several types of shochu to devise your original recipe. For drivers, children, or others who cannot drink alcohol, you can enjoy blending based on fragrances, and decorate your commemorative bottle.
